Dalkia, the EDF subsidiary specializing in energy services and heat and cooling networks, has announced the 100% acquisition of Cesbron, a company specialising in cooling and HVAC. The two companies have therefore worked hand in hand this year to improve their market position and continue efforts towards energy transition.

While many projects have already been made public, Dalkia noted that the merger of the two companies will provide integrated offers for customers seeking energy savings. Thus, Cesbron will benefit from Dalkia’s expertise in energy performance, while Dalkia hopes to strengthen its position in the refrigeration sector through Cesbron.

Energy efficiency remains a largely unexplored subject in network cooling as Jean-Michel Mazalérat, the CEO of Dalkia notes:

“Cooling is an area that holds strong growth opportunities for Dalkia particularly with respect to possible synergies with other energy services. Many customers are optimizing their cooling facilities, in addition to heat generation facilities, which opens up the possibility of maximizing energy savings.”

Energy transition is therefore seen to be an opportunity for Dalkia to develop new possibilities and solutions. According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the potential for energy savings is about 20% of earnings, which leaves many opportunities for Dalkia and Cesbron to develop their offer.

François Vasse, the new president of Cesbron, concluded:

“I welcome the entry of Cesbron within the Dalkia Group, which will bring us new cross development opportunities and will strengthen our national presence. Our project is particularly ambitious: we want to make Cesbron a key player in energy services in the trades of refrigeration and temperature control.”
